week 1

This first week of 2014 has been awesome! With the new year came new memories. each of our 5 kids wanted to see the new year come in, all but 1 made it. The minute the ball dropped my kids wished me a happy birthday!  My husband was awesome getting plans together to make the day special for me. He got two different babysitters who didn’t have a time restraint. I was able to enjoy a hot lunch and then we walked hand in hand in the stores, doesn’t sound like much, but it was so nice. I was able to look into his eyes when he talked and he did the same to me.  We talked about the goals we have for this year and what we want to instill in our children. How we want to grow closer as husband and wife and how we can make this “date night” happen more often.

This week we moved the class room back to its original room. We needed the separation between the loudness of downstairs. We added a chalkboard to the wall and with that came new excitement. we enjoyed using it for math and spelling, It’s all about the little things in life!

While at church for our New Years service a friend gave us a real guitar, Matthew of course claimed it as his own.  I secretly pray that Jesus keeps this hunger in his heart, the hunger to worship the Lord. the hunger to make up his own songs and then sing it as though he is the only one in the room. I’m praying that God is doing something that i can’t even imagine in my children. Just in the month of December we had our oldest proclaiming scripture from the platform on a Sunday morning, and our Daughter gave her testimony ( during the last service of the year) of how Jesus has healed her from brain cancer, proclaiming how if Jesus didn’t die on the cross she may not be here healed today.

BE still and know that i am GOd.

Jeremiah 29:11 says it best

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD,

“plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
